The College of Business Administration at Niagara University has developed a two week study abroad program to Taiwan and Japan. This is a writing intensive program based on the philosophy of learning by seeing. Participating students will earn three credits equivalent to an international management/ marketing/ economics course Before the trip, students will be required to do research and write a comparative paper on Asian and U.S. business practices. During the trip, students will visit Taiwan and Japan, interact with foreign professors and students and share their views of U.S. culture. The students will have several lectures taught by foreign professors and write a journal to document learning outcomes of the trip. After the trip, students will be required to write up a final report to be reviewed by hosting professors. This year from May 14th to May 27th, Brandon Hall, Lauren Loos, Mike Mimram, Mike O'connor and Ian Weerasinghe ventured to Taiwan and Japan. In their eyes, this was an experience that they could not refuse. They traveled around all of Taiwan visiting many different places, colleges, universities and one high school. After traveling Taiwan for ten days they flew to Tokyo, Japan for three days. They keep saying "It is too hard to describe everything we experienced, you just have to go and find out yourself." We would like to thank Dr. Lee for teaching us that "You can read 1,000 books, but never experience what you could traveling 1,000 miles" For more information, please contact Prof. Lee by e-mail at tlee@niagara.edu , the Dean's office at 716-286-8050, or e-mail Brandon Hall at BrandonHall@hallhaven.com |
