SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) is a national organization formed to stimulate outside

interest in the varied and ever-expanding field of human resources.   Activities such as excursions to various

companies around the Buffalo-Niagara area and lectures given on campus by PHR (Professional in Human

Resource Management) provide a better understanding of the field of Human Resource Management.   All

students are welcome to join and learn more about the exciting field in HR. SHRM is a great networking

opportunity for all NU students and a great resume builder for after graduation.   Anybody interested in joining

should e-mail Professor Alegre at malegre@niagara.edu

SHRM is the leading voice of the human resource profession, representing the interests of over 65,000 professional and 6000

student members from around the world. SHRM provides its membership with education and information services, conferences

and seminars, government and media representation, and publications that equip human resource professionals to become

leaders and decision makers within their organizations. The Society is a founding member and Secretariat of the World

Federation of Personnel Management Associations (WFPMA) which links human resource associations in 55 nations.
