City of Niagara Falls Entrepreneurial Training Program announced:
The City of Niagara Falls, Department of Economic Development through the efforts of Senator Antoine Thompson (D-Buffalo)and in partnership with Niagara University's Community Outreach Partnership Center (COPC) are pleased to offer the Entrepreneurial Training Program to begin on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the Niagara Falls Public Library located at 1425 Main Street.The classes will be from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. I. Tax Assistance and Finanical Literacy/ Niagara University Tax Assistance
In partnership with Niagara University, as part of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program and funded by a grant from the Internal Revenue Service for Tax Counseling for the Elderly program, COPC is helping to bring the community tax assistance. Accounting students from Niagara University’s College of Business Administration provided free tax assistance to members of the Niagara Falls community in February, March and April of 2007 and 2008. Under the program, NU students prepare and electronically file federal and state income tax returns free of charge for elderly and low-income taxpayers in the community.
II. Technical Assistance for Small and Family Owned Businesses

Presentors: Dr. Deborah Curtis and Michael Jeswald, Niagara University's Hospitality Training & Research Center and Graduate Students from NU's MBA program.
During the spring 2007 semester, Graduate students from Niagara University's MBA program provided one on one technical assistance to two Niagara region businesses.
