Windsor is Canada's southernmost city and is situated on the border to the US. A temperate climate prevails in this area and temperatures on average are much warmer than the rest of Canada due to the southern latitude. Windsor is located south of the city of Detroit (also known as Motown and Motor City) and is separated by Detroit River. The city of Windsor has magnificent parks and gardens and excellent shopping, dining and accommodation. Beyond the city, there are lush and fertile farms, quaint towns and miles of picturesque waterfront, beaches and nature’s paradise, Point Pelee National Park. Spend a day on nearby Pelee Island, a unique micro-climate that produces excellent wine and a marvellous getaway form the bustle of city life.
