This view is strengthened with a civic, ethic, and aesthetic education. The university offers almost 200 academic programs with an enrolment of 57,000 students.  It is also very active at the international level through co-operation agreements with numerous institutions around the world. The university’s involvement is through its Faculty of Accounting Administration.  UAEM is located in the city of Toluca, about 40 miles south of Mexico City.

Toluca has a population of 500,000 people. It is the highest city in the country, with a rich history and tradition. It was established as a settlement in 1530 by Hernán Cortés, who had received the Valle de Toluca as a grant from Emperor Charles V. Its historic center boasts fascinating buildings in a variety of architectural styles, excellent museums and cultural forums, all of which are open to visitors. Its proximity to Mexico City means that it is very accessible, and offers extremely reasonable accommodation and restaurants. Its surroundings are filled with natural attractions that can easily be visited in a day. Its rivers, lakes and lagoons, waterfalls, rock formations, volcanoes and caves are ideal for adventure sports and nature walks. Other sites worth visiting include Metepec, the archaeological zones of Teotenango and Malinalco, Parque Nevado de Toluca and Valle de Bravo. One of the world’s greatest archaeological wonder, Teotichuacan, which housed the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon, is 30 miles northeast of Mexico City.
