Education

Education is central to the Castellani Art Museum's mission. The Education Program of the Castellani Art Museum serves diverse constituencies of the Niagara region through its programs, activities, archival resources, and curriculum projects, facilitating links among artists, students, education professionals, and other cultural and educational institutions. The Castellani Art Museum is committed to ongoing development of projects, programs, and resources to serve professional educators. The museum also encourages the ideas and participation of area schools and teachers in development of appropriate methods and resources. Central to the philosophy of the museum as an educational resource are the following ideas:

(1) art can be used to teach many subjects;
(2) art utilizes alternative learning styles, thus offering avenues for academic success to all young people; and
(3) art provides access to other cultures, promoting cross-cultural awareness and a global perspective necessary in a multi-ethnic  society.
