Nouveau Realisme

This movement involved the appropriation of ordinary materials and objects by artists such as Arman, César, Christo, Niki de Saint-Phalle, François Dufrêne, Raymond Hains, Yves Klein, Mimmo Rotella, Daniel Spoerri, Jean Tinguely, and Jacques de la Villeglé, among others. Like the Dadaists and the Surrealists, these artists performed archaeological excavations of everyday life.
